Chic & Relaxed: Afternoon Tea at Albert’s Restaurants
If you’re looking for a laid-back yet beautifully presented Afternoon Tea in Greater Manchester, Albert’s Restaurants offers a welcoming experience that blends modern British charm with great food and warm hospitality. With locations in Castlefield, Didsbury, Standish, and Worsley, Albert’s is known for its stylish interiors, consistent quality, and approachable atmosphere, making it a go-to for locals and visitors alike.
Their Afternoon Tea offering is a popular feature across all venues, designed to suit a wide range of guests, from groups celebrating special occasions to couples enjoying a weekend treat. It’s traditional at heart, but with the contemporary Albert’s touch.
Traditional Afternoon Tea with a Contemporary Feel
Albert’s Afternoon Tea is available Monday to Saturday from 2pm to 5pm and offers a classic three-tiered structure that doesn’t stray far from British tradition, but adds just enough modern edge to make it feel fresh and current.
The savoury tier includes a well-balanced mix of finger sandwiches and other bites. Expect fillings such as smoked salmon with crème fraîche, egg mayonnaise and cress, ham and wholegrain mustard, and cheddar with tomato chutney, served on a variety of soft breads and always presented with care.
Next come the freshly baked scones, a key highlight of the experience. Served warm with clotted cream and strawberry jam, they strike the perfect balance between crumbly and soft. It’s a satisfying and comforting middle tier that delivers exactly what a traditional Afternoon Tea should.
The sweet selection on the top tier is where Albert’s adds a little flair. Guests are treated to a rotation of mini cakes, tarts, and sweet bites, such as chocolate brownie squares, lemon drizzle, macarons, or fruit-topped sponges. These are simple, well-made, and not overly fussy, ideal for those who appreciate good quality without the excess.
Upgrade with Prosecco or Cocktails
To make the experience feel extra special, Albert’s offers a Prosecco Afternoon Tea, which includes a glass of fizz alongside your meal. For those wanting something even more celebratory, you can add a cocktail from the bar’s carefully curated list, which features house favourites and seasonal mixes.
This flexibility makes Afternoon Tea at Albert’s a great choice for birthdays, baby showers, hen parties, or just a relaxed afternoon with friends.
A Welcoming Experience for All
The atmosphere at Albert’s is what truly sets it apart. Each location has its own distinctive interior, but all share a commitment to stylish design, relaxed dining, and attentive service. Afternoon Tea is offered in the same inviting spaces as their main dining service, which gives it a casual-luxury feel, less formal than a hotel tearoom, but still special.
Albert’s welcomes a wide range of guests, from couples and families to larger groups. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free Afternoon Tea options are available with advance notice, ensuring an inclusive experience for all.
Booking & Availability
Afternoon Tea is served by pre-booking only, and it’s recommended to reserve in advance, especially for weekends. Bookings can be made via the Albert’s website for your preferred location.
For a relaxed yet refined take on Afternoon Tea, Albert’s Restaurants offer a dependable and enjoyable option, perfect for those who want tradition with a modern twist, served with Northern warmth.
Reviews

Food was good and the place is nice for children. We book for 11.45 for breakfast but was asked to move to the bar after around 45 mins because there will be a large party, which is quite disappointed. Anyways, the staff was nice and the food was good so we would still give them 5 stars.

Came here for a birthday dinner. Place is spacious with a very nice ambience. The drinks menu has quite the variety of cocktails, I can happily recommend the Dark Cherry Cosmo and the Passion fruit Mojito. We had mains and desserts. Most upper £10s to low £20s with streak obviously pricier.

We had a large family get together last Saturday here. It was our first time and we loved it. The restaurant is large and airy and has a really nice atmosphere is spacious and light. The food was lovely. The staff are amazing. We would definitely go back in a heartbeat. The atmosphere was great... Highly recommend

A lovely lovely restaurant! Loved the cocktails, service from Zak was fab. We saw the table beside us making their own kids pizza which i thought was a great idea. Can't wait to return. We didn't take too many photos of inside as people were eating so didnt want to be rude but it was so lovely inside.

We've been at Albert's quite a few times. It's a lovely and lively place. The food is reliably tasty. The atmosphere is relaxing, As I cannot quite remember how often we go there, say the last 10 times, staff were always very welcoming and professional. It feels like they feel good working there.
