Nubeluz by José Andrés, set high on the 50th floor of The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad, offers a refined Afternoon Tea experience with panoramic views across the Manhattan skyline. This stylish venue combines modern design with a relaxed yet polished atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for an elegant weekend treat.
Refined Savouries with a Twist
The Afternoon Tea menu is carefully curated, balancing classic tastes with creative touches. Guests can enjoy a selection of elevated savouries, including a Delicata Squash Quiche with kale and cheddar, a Chicken Salad Sandwich with sesame mayo and grapes, and a Lobster Roll served on brioche with yuzu mayo. There’s also a Ham and Cheese Sandwich made with Paleta Ibérica and Manchego, alongside a traditional Bagel and Lox layered with dill cream cheese and salmon roe. For something more indulgent, try the cucumber sandwich finished with Kristal caviar.
Each bite-sized portion is prepared to a high standard, offering variety and sophistication without being overly fussy. It’s a menu designed to please both traditionalists and those after something a little different.
Delicate Sweet Treats
The sweet course is equally considered. Guests are treated to Lemon Ginger & Cranberry Scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, alongside Cranberry Walnut Bundt Cake with a spiced glaze. Highlights include a Gingerbread Roll Cake with winter spice cream and a Peppermint Chocolate Tart topped with whipped vanilla cream. A Violet Madeleine and Miso Dulce de Leche Shortbread round off the selection, combining delicate flavours with a sense of indulgence.
The balance of rich, tangy, and spiced notes across the sweet offerings shows attention to detail and makes this a memorable part of the experience.
Teas and Extras
A wide-ranging tea menu is available, featuring favourites such as English Breakfast, Earl Grey Crème, and herbal blends like Egyptian Chamomile and Pacific Coast Mint. More adventurous drinkers can try Jasmine Reserve or White Coconut Crème. Each tea has been chosen to complement the savoury and sweet courses, and staff are on hand to offer pairing suggestions.
Guests can also upgrade with extras such as José’s signature caviar service, featuring house-made potato crisps and whipped crème fraîche, or enjoy a Skyline Bellini made with Japanese baby peaches and Champagne.
Family-Friendly Afternoon Tea
Nubeluz also offers a dedicated children’s Afternoon Tea menu for guests aged 10 and under. Priced at $60, it includes options such as Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches, Grilled Cheese, and sweet treats served with herbal tea or fruit juice. It’s a thoughtful inclusion that makes the venue suitable for families as well as couples and friends.

Reviews

Six of us visited on a sunny Saturday. The service was impeccable, with plenty of tea choices. The fixed menu, from small sandwiches to desserts, was delicious and beautifully presented.

The views are breathtaking, especially of the Empire State Building. However, despite a reservation, we waited 25 minutes for our table and found the cocktail menu limited.

The view is among the best in NYC, but the service and food don't match the luxury vibe. Tiny portions and a $90 check for minimal food and two cocktails felt overpriced.

The ambiance strikes a perfect balance—relaxed yet intimate. Breathtaking views add to the charm. Service was attentive without being intrusive, making it a memorable experience.

Despite booking weeks in advance for a birthday, we were denied a window seat. The hostess was dismissive, and service felt selective, favoring certain guests over others.
